Emergency vehicles like any product require service for repairs and maintenance. Due to being a specialty type vehicle it is critical your Department’s emergency vehicle repairs and maintenance are performed by trained technicians. Spartan Fire and Emergency Apparatus, Inc. employees a trained certified staff in the repair and maintenance of emergency vehicles, in addition we are the authorized service center for South Carolina in warranty repair on Pierce and Medtec emergency vehicles. We are dedicated strictly to emergency vehicles with an 8,400 sq.ft. facility and four (4) fully equipped field service vehicles. We are focused on providing reliable and dependable service to South Carolina emergency services.

![]() | Mike Shelton - Service Manager (mshelton@spartanfire.com)Mike recently joined the Spartan Fire team in 2011. His career started as a lot attendant at an automotive dealership while he was in high school and he has worked in various capacities over the years, including; automotive technician, service and parts advisor, service manager, parts manager and director of operations. With over 27 years of automotive experience he has obtained several Awards in Customer Satisfaction and Management Professionalism. He has now begun to complete courses with Pierce in Aerial and PUC Preventative Maintenance. Mike is continuing his training course with the Emergency Apparatus Division. |
![]() | Pete Guzik – Shop Supervisor/Service Technician. Pete joined Spartan Fire in 2006 as Service Technician. He brought an extensive background in automotive/truck service and repair with several years experience with emergency vehicles. As Shop Supervisor Pete works directly with our Service Manager and is responsible for scheduling of technicians and the hands on operations for in-house and field service. Pete is recognized as a Pierce Brigade Master Technician acquiring all certifications and retaining this level through continued training. |
![]() | Ken Dittemore – Service Technician. In 1981 Ken became Spartan Fire’s first Service Technician and today is a Lead Technician. With over 30 years experience he provides a wealth of knowledge in the repair and maintenance of emergency vehicles. Ken is also a Pierce Brigade Master Technician acquiring all certifications and retaining this level through continued training. Ken is a Captain with the North Spartanburg Fire Department. |
![]() | Ralph Neiderhiser – Service Technician. Ralph has been a Service Technician for Spartan Fire since 2001 after retiring from Hilton Head Fire/Rescue. He has more than 30 years experience with heavy duty trucks and emergency vehicles of all types. Ralph is a Lead Technician based out of Beaufort, SC with a Spartan Fire fully equipped service vehicle covering the coastal area of South Carolina. |

Since that time Jay has handled many different responsibilities within our service department and became a Service Technician in 2008. Currently Jay is certified by Pierce for Preventive Maintenance, Chassis Electrical, Command Zone Electronics, Husky Foam Systems and TAK 4 Independent Suspension. Jay is also a Captain with the North Spartanburg Fire Department. |
![]() | Troy Beaudoin – Service Technician. Troy began his career with Spartan Fire in 2010. Prior to this Troy worked at Pierce for five (5) years as a Pumper and Aerial body welder. Troy has completed college courses in Blueprint/AutoCAD welding and Metallurgy. In addition, he is certified by Pierce for Chassis Electrical, Command Zone Electronics, TAK 4 Independent Suspension and Aerial Maintenance. Troy is also a volunteer with Una Fire Department. |
